We’ve previously crowned Princess Charlotte the Queen of Sass — a title we thoroughly and endearingly stand by. The young royal can serve side eye as well as (if not better than!) her late grandma Princess Diana. But now we think it should be slightly tweaked. By the royal authority in me, I now pronounce Princess Charlotte the Queen of Sass, Style, & Sustainability. [cue trumpets]
Consciously or not, the 9-year-old royal is doing the planet a favor by re-wearing the same fashionable jacket to the “Together At Christmas” Carol Service at Westminster Abbey for the last three years. As seen below, Princess Charlotte consistently rocks a timeless and vibrant deep red peacoat for the occasion. The move is so relatable and humanizing. Whether she wore it again because she loves it, because her mom Kate Middleton loves it, or because there wasn’t room in her closet (or money in her pocket) for yet another outfit, we can relate! (Even if we doubt space and money actually were an issue.)
Prince William and Middleton shared sweet family photos from the event on Instagram, and though we know the seating was probably arranged by royal protocol and not based on fashion, we love to see that the stylish young princess was front and center at the service.
“An evening to come together and celebrate this festive season as the Together at Christmas Carol Service returns to Westminster Abbey,” the Prince and Princess of Wales captioned the post. “Shining a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities.”
While Princess Charlotte looked much the same in her now-iconic red coat, her brother Prince Louis looked noticeably different. The 6-year-old — who is known for his silly antics — looked incredibly serious and subdued in the photos. We hope it was merely an “off” night for the showstopping prince. We’d hate to hear he isn’t feeling well (it’s that time of year!) or that he’s finally been coerced into keeping his cool in public. We live for his adorably silly faces!
Whatever the case may be for the ultra-serious Prince Louis and the ever-stylish Princess Charlotte, followers were so happy to see the entire Wales family together. “Very beautiful to see this amazing Family,” one person said. Another added, “It was great to see family together again ❤️🎄🤩”
“So lovely to watch the children be part of such a wonderful tradition. Well done the both of you! 👏🥰,” another person said, referencing Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’ involvement in the special candle lighting and more.
