Princess Grace’s granddaughter, Charlotte Casiraghi, is leaning into her royal heritage as a long-standing ambassador for Chanel. Not surprisingly, she was spotted in the front row at the Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show as part of Paris Couture Fashion Week on Jan. 28.

The royal family member, and daughter of Princess Caroline, channeled her late grandmother wearing a tweed Chanel skirt set. The chic jacket was embellished with pink and white crystals across the bodice, neckline, and sleeves with the classic Chanel buttons down the front. It gave a fresh spin on the heritage brand. The ensemble was paired with a black skirt and black tights, and her hair pulled back in an artfully messy way. You’d never know of her royal background from the casual, yet beautiful, way she put her outfit together.

The 38-year-old is eighth in line to the throne of Monaco and her position with Chanel is not your typical ambassadorship — she’s a literary ambassador for the brand. “There’s a big tradition of Monaco welcoming artists who were experiencing difficulties creating elsewhere,” she explained her role to The Telegraph in September 2024. “From Serge Diaghilev [the Ballets Russes impresario], whom my great-great-grandfather invited to Monaco, to my grandmother who welcomed Josephine Baker when she was bankrupt – there are many stories like this.” It’s more of a royal patronage than a typical ad campaign done by Hollywood celebs.

Still, she walked…or galloped… on the runway for Chanel in 2022 to open their fashion show. In her full equestrian gear designed by the luxury brand, she and her horse strutted their stuff down the catwalk — and it garnered quite a few headlines. “That was not easy,” she revealed to the media outlet. “I was a bit nervous, and it was a challenge as I had stopped riding and if you stop for a few years your muscles are not in gear, so you’re stiff. Well, no one knew beforehand, so it was a complete surprise. I loved that part.”

Casiraghi is proud of her family’s ties to the luxury brand and shared her enthusiasm when her ambassadorship was first announced in December 2020. “It’s almost as if I was born with Chanel. I think of photos of my mom when she was pregnant with me. Wonderful photos by Karl Lagerfeld, with her wearing Chanel,” she said in a video, via Harper’s Bazaar. She even wore Chanel for her 2019 wedding to her now-ex-husband, Dimitri Rassam, which was one of the late designer Karl Lagerfeld’s “last Haute Couture dresses.”

Princess Grace was a huge fan of Chanel and was often spotted in their iconic tweed suits. Her Hollywood career, and her abrupt departure to marry into the royal family of Monaco, are a huge part of her legacy. Her style was just like her name— graceful, elegant, and timeless. Casiraghi knows how powerful her late grandmother’s name is and she’s honoring her in the best way possible.
